Gas
Project software for gas contractors.
For contractors working for Cadent, SGN and Wales & West Utilities. Gas connections, renewals of low- and medium-pressure mains and pressure-reducing stations — on one schedule, with ATEX safety built in and LSBUD searches tracked per site.
UPrince is project software for gas contractors working for Cadent, SGN, Northern Gas Networks and Wales & West Utilities. Gas connections, low- and medium-pressure mains, pressure-reducing stations and ATEX safety sit in the same file — no separate Excel per client.
What a gas site really demands today
Job → connection → handover
A gas job from Cadent or SGN runs from order through schedule and work order to handover, on one project number. No separate tab for the status of each connection.
Renewing low- and medium-pressure mains
Low pressure and medium pressure planned separately, each with its own technical requirements and safety rules. One file for the entire route — not per section.
ATEX zones and safety records
ATEX requirements, gas detection and safety checks are a mandatory step in the work order flow — they cannot be skipped and are stored straight in the file.
Utility searches and cable and pipe detection
LSBUD and NUAR searches and the plans that come back are kept in the project file, so clashes with existing pipes and cables are spotted before the excavators break ground.
Pressure-reducing stations and overhauls
Pressure-reducing stations and overhaul work as separate site groups, each with its own bill of quantities and its own maintenance history in the same file.
Modules that make the difference on a gas site
For gas, these are the modules we see carrying the most weight.
From the field
In gas work, the order of operations is critical; skipping a step is not an option. We used to have paper checklists that were typed up afterwards. Now the crew fills them in on the tablet, on the spot, and they go straight into the file. The network operator's inspector can review them that same day.

Frequently asked questions — gas
Does UPrince work with Fluvius gas and ORES?
UPrince reads gas jobs from Fluvius and ORES, the Flemish and Walloon network operators, through their contractor portal and keeps the status, progress and final settlement next to your own schedule.
How does UPrince support ATEX requirements?
ATEX checks and gas detection readings are built into the UPrince work order flow as mandatory steps. They cannot be skipped and are stored with a timestamp in the project file.
Are utility searches tracked in the project file?
Yes. The LSBUD or NUAR search for each site, the asset owners' replies and their status sit in the UPrince project file and show on the schedule — no separate browser tab per site. In Belgium, KLIP requests run straight through UPrince.
How are low-pressure and medium-pressure works kept apart?
In UPrince, low-pressure and medium-pressure work are modelled as separate site groups or jobs in the same file, each with its own safety rules, its own bills of quantities and its own crew planning.
Is this also suitable for smaller gas contractors?
UPrince is used today by contractors with 10 to 250 people. For smaller gas contractors we start with work orders, the LMRA and planning — the rest is switched on when it is needed.
